What does "Unanimouz" mean? It is defined as being of one mind. That is what this eclectic individual portrays himself to be in general and in music. Born as Nigel Demax Thomas on June 8, 1985, this one of a kind Gemini has experienced the harsh realities of the world. Raised in Wilmington, Ca, Nigel has witnessed the influence of poverty, drugs, and gang violence at an early age. He was very fortunate to survive it all, especially after the death of his mother.
Attending Long Beach Poly High during his 10th grade year, Nigel would get with a few of his classmates on every school day and engage himself in ciphers. He quickly learned how to rhyme along with having the talent of a natural writer. The name "Unanimouz" came to him after realizing that he musically separates himself from the pack. His niche for writing was too much to let go to waste. He knew then that his raw talent would take him very far.
At the age of 16, Unanimouz began recording songs and learned very quickly how to make himself standout over a beat. After graduating from high school, Unanimouz attended Long Beach City College and enrolled in courses for recording and MIDI. He eventually learned how to produce beats for himself. His sound was so original, that he would easily be identified as being not of the norm. All of this was just the tip of the iceberg in his musical journey.
Unanimouz wanted to start a movement that pushed the envelope of music, strike a nerve in politics, and uplift people. This movement became to be known as "The Outer Circle". T.O.C. (The Outer Circle) is something that is opposite of what is typical. "We’re on the outside looking in at everything else and using it to our advantage," says Unanimouz. "This will be the new change that everyone is waiting for."
